A Mile With Me

Who will walk a mile with me
In this scary way?
A friend with such a frolic fancy play
A hope to the arcane ways
Who cares to fear and still stay
Who dares to risk and never baa
Who cares to tread the scary way
While he walks a mile with me

Who will walk a mile with me
Along the path of the memory lanes?
An ally endowed with an empyrean tale
Who plays like a toddler beholding her mother’s gaze
A starlet dancing across the lightless sky
Who dares to dream and never frail,
While he walks a mile with me

Who will walk a mile with me
A damsel with a heady lips?
I hope with that I lose not my grip
And forget to chase my dream.

A damsel with a heady taste?
I’m afraid that fulfils not my gaze
Nevertheless, I know, yea, I know
With such a friend and comely comrades
I’ll fly across the restless wave
I’ll enjoy the sunshine and the rain
Then at the end I’d beautiful say
Dear friends, farewell till we meet again.

Help Me To Be Like You

I journey through the stars
I walk in the silent night
I fly with all the dreams
With the hope of reaching the sky

 I experience the nights
I rest my mind on my heart
Saying it is a weakness
Yet, you never leave my gaze
Saying, be like me

I struggled to be like you
Yet, I never see beyond the sky’s blue
Your mind I unravel
Yet it is hard to do
Now, I’m lost without a thought
Please draw near to be my chuck

The lone night you endured
The world’s alluring land you overcame
The dark man you prevailed against
O God, I’m sure I’m not growing
even to your half
But grant me the grace
and the shining night
To be like you………..

Why We Write

O world,
Why are you so curious about why we write?
…..
Gather around to listen to my heart
The answer to your question I'll not hide
For my tongue won't cleave to the roof of my mouth.

In the fire,
The shadows dance
In the sky,
The clouds fly
Without an edge,
The word triggers the mind.

Would you ask the earth,
why do you spin?
Would you ask the stars,
Why they shine?
We write therefore,
To tell the world we are alive

Sometimes we are drenched by thoughts
Sometimes we are broken beyond repair
Sometimes we smile with the sky
But amid all these,
We express our mind

Sometimes we become thought
Most time, we are short for words
Often time, we fabricate the silent words,
That piece the lonely world

Our inks paint the white sheet black
Some call it art
Our feelings we twist with figure of speeches
Some come around to call it expression
But, we know within our hearts,
That our words are not just a bunch of art
We call them impact
With the hope that it'll never die

Nevertheless,
This writing,
We don't need claps for appreciation
Neither do we need awards for celebration
For we write not just for these,
But for ourselves, the love, and the joy within….

The Four-Letter Word: Love

Beloved, I’ve not come to tell you a riddle that would drench all your thoughts, neither have I come to tell you a tale that would make you think of the things without existence, Here I am to tell you that four-letter word that captures the world without going to war. The word that makes the mighty fall without a second thought.

Truly, I’m here to tell you that four-letter word that makes the day shine without the sun, it makes a day long without speeding up its gears, yeah, here I am to declare into your ears that word that could make the oceans burst into tears, the word that could freeze the air without thinking of the people’s death.

Sighs, beloved
I’m swallowed by fear, for I know this word would be hard to tend. the word can drain your flesh, leaving your skin and soul bared
The word can spare you a river of tears, that even the oceans would not be able to bear. Dear, do you wish to hear.

I’ve tasted it,
And I’ve gotten experience, I’ve felt it, but then it left my soul bared. I felt it, and at first, I burst into tears. I caught it on a stand; then it painted the heart with similes, I grabbed and I perceived not my saddened past no more. I kissed it and it showed me the path of trust
I sensed it, and I felt an endless joy
The four-letter word has been my word
This word I promise to say into your sense, feel it and dance to every beat it sings, then you’d know you’ve gotten to a side of the world where every storm becomes calm.

Beloved,
This four-letter word is what I called Love
With it, you can tend, set, kill, destroy, and also raise to life
Hold unto this, and experience a world of peace
Beloved, await my next word to you, till the time we see again, remain blessed.

Walking In The Spirit

Walking in the Spirit is a decision that’s personal, yet, beyond man’s conclusion and comprehension. Life in the Spirit is a journey that has no assigned limit, as long the soul lives. However, if life in the Spirit is a journey, then who are those to tread it? Without an attempt to hold the air in our hands, those who are to tread this journey are the believers. Then, How? To this end, this article will discuss the person of the Spirit, the life in the Spirit, and how to walk in the Spirit. This article won’t achieve its main purpose without first discussing the first two sub-sections listed above (The person of the Spirit and the Life in the Spirit. Painfully, the works of the Spirit are limited by our misconceptions and worldly focus.

  1. The Person of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a divine person (the last person of the Trinity), who is worthy to receive our adoration, love, and faith. If we do not think of the Holy Spirit as a person, then we’d continually be limited by his power and divinity, our thoughts would be like Simon’s, who jealously wanted to buy the Holy Spirit, thinking He’s an impersonal thing that could be bought.

Act 8:18-20. And when Simon saw that through laying on of the Apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, 19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.20. But Peter said unto him, thy money perish with thee because thou hast thought that gift of God may be purchased with money. (KJV)

I wish we understand what Simon saw before concluding on purchasing the Spirit, because nobody would purchase ordinary laying on of hands without essence and gain, actually nobody will. He saw them speaking in tongues and casting away evil spirits, (according to Acts 2:4, 10:44-48) i.e. he saw them manifesting the power within the Name/Personality. From the passage above, it can be unambiguously concluded that the Holy Spirit Is Divine; a gift that can’t be purchased like our lifeless needs and desires. It is a gift that can be acquired through proper repentance, meaning God alone could remedy this situation, and He always will upon proper repentance, which says He (God) is right and I am wrong. It’d be great to affirm this before leaving that for another time, that “God has nothing for sale; everything He has is a “Gift” even His Son [Jn 3:16, Luke 11:13, Eph. 1:13]

John 3:16. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Luke 11:13. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? [KJV]

If we continually think that that the person of the Holy Spirit is an impersonal power or influence, we’ll constantly think of a way to get hold of the power and use the Holy Spirit, but if we recognize Him as a divine Person who is tender, lovely, peaceful, wise and unlimited in any realm, our thought will always be “How can the Holy Spirit get hold of and use me. You can only get hold or use “something” you can control or stretch to suit your own will. The body of the Holy Spirit is the one that acts and lives within us according to the will of God through Jesus Christ, the Son.

Not until we see the Spirit as a divine person, our thoughts will continually limit the power of the Spirit. Instead of seeking a way to be ready for the Spirit to get more of you, you will be thinking of a plan to get more of Him to consume purposelessly. Also, the Holy Spirit is a Divine being that speaks, teaches, ministers, leads, and makes us ready for the purpose and will of the Father. [Luke 4:1, 1Cor 2: 13]…Undoubtedly, without the Spirit, we’re empty and can’t fulfill the will of God, the Father.

Luke 4:1. And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.

The Spirit is a being that sees the mind of the Father, and ministers it to His carrier. Conclusively, the Holy Spirit is a personality whose works cannot be overemphasized.

2. “Life in the Spirit”. [Roman 8:2]

As believers who carry the person of the Spirit, the life we live is a Life in the Spirit, and living in the Spirit is the manifestation in the unseen realm even though seen in the human world. In Him we live a life of no condemnation, for He is perfect.

I think it’d be of value to ship in my recent encounter when the thought came into my mind that “Can a Believer be perfect?” as we are living in a flawsome world. At first, the question was shocking and the answer to it was benighted, but in the end, the Spirit made me understand that He is a perfect being, and anybody that carries Him is perfect even though living in a world full of flaws. The Spirit of God (The Holy Spirit) is without blemish and beyond condemnation, He’s perfect, and those who walk after Him are perfect. Romans 8:1.

Romans 8:1. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit

The above text makes us understand that the Holy Spirit works exclusively within the legal confines of the finished work of Christ (the death and resurrection); our faith in that finished work, i.e. “the cross” guarantees the help of the Holy Spirit, which guarantees Victory.

Living in the Spirit sets one free from the law (life) of sin and death, i.e. anyone living/walking in the Spirit is not limited by the power of sin which directly or indirectly leads to the law of death. The way the Holy Spirit works through Christ Jesus annihilates the power and effects of Sin and Death. In short, the Spirit gives Victory to His Carrier. Romans 8:2

For the Law of the Spirit (the way the Holy Spirit works) of life in Christ Jesus has made me from (Gives Victory) from the law of Sin and Death.

However, the work of the Spirit is undoubtedly limited by the flesh, nobody walking in the realm of the flesh fulfills the mandates of the Spirit. The Spirit works not in a capacity limited by the law of the flesh. Without tapping into what Jesus did i.e. condemning sin, the Spirit Being cannot and never be embodied.

Romans 8:3. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned Sin in the Flesh.

Jesus has already condemned sin, and as a result, allows the outpour of the Holy Spirit, so there is no condemnation for those living, walking, and dwelling in the realm of the Spirit which is far beyond the realm of sin and death.

Laconically, life in the Spirit is the fulfillment and the manifestation of the Life of Christ, for we are empty without the Holy Spirit.

3.How to Walk in the Spirit.

After understanding the personality of the Holy Spirit and the value of the Life in Him, then, I think it would be of great interest to understand how to walk in this realm and personality to enjoy the power and importance within. God always wants us to walk in this realm, for by this we claim the life of Victory because the Holy Spirit is a Spirit of victory, peace, obedience, hope, etc. By tapping into this God’s will, we overcome the flesh from its controlling power and wishes.

Expressively, here are some steps to help you understand how to walk in the Spirit.

  • Annihilate the Flesh/Lay aside All Weight (Heb. 12:1)

Heb.12:1. Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us

Annihilating the flesh/weight is the first step to living in the Spirit realm, for the Flesh is an equal counterpart of the Spirit. Without laying aside the weights (sins) that awake the flesh, the Spirit is limited. Laying aside the weights can be done as we understand that all things come to us through the cross and that the cross must ever be the object of our faith, which then gives the Holy Spirit latitude to work within our lives. In short, the weights we are to lay aside are the things that are not in line with the Word of God. Gal. 5:19. We lay aside these weights by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the Author, and the Finisher of our Faith. Heb.12:2…we lay aside these weights by allowing the things of the world to be of no importance to us and rating higher the things of the Spirit with great importance. Present yourself as a living sacrifice, renewing your mind with the things of the Spirit. Romans 12:1-2

  • Submitting yourself/time to Things of the Spirit-Continually Sow to the Things of the Spirit.

Gal.6:8. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life Everlasting.

Without flying to the sky without purpose, how do we sow to the things of the Spirit? We simply sow to the things of the Spirit by studying the life Christ which is the Word of God. We grow in Spirit each time we devote our time to study the Word of Life (God), by this, the Spirit continues to grow. If you don’t give God time, the world will surely overwhelm your heart. Prioritize the Word of God; make it your priority, give it your time, by this, you become a giant in the Spirit.

  • Obeying His Leadings.-Doing the Things of the Spirit (Living Beyond the Flesh)

Romans 8:5. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Gal 5:22-23 But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, Faith

23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Lastly, we need to continually hear the Spirit and follow after His will, the Spirit speaks to you every time, don’t be carried away by the things of the world, and be deliberate in obeying His leadings. Raise not your problem above the Spirit, the Spirit is the solution. It is a pity, we are in a world that focuses too much on the Problem and neglects the Solution. Everything God tells you is of great importance, it is good…do it. If we live to obey the leadings of the Spirit, our lives will be fond of the Spirit. By obeying the Spirit, we’ll be fond of the things of the Spirit. We pray in the Spirit, we seek solutions in the Spirit, we dialogue in the Spirit, and above all, we dwell in the Spirit realm.

Conclusively, we know we live in a world that is turning away from the things of the LORD, but you as a believer can choose to live to suit the ways of the LORD through the help of His Spirit within you. Quoting the first phrase said in this article that “Walking in the Spirit is a decision that’s personal” yeah, walking in the Spirit realm is a decision we individually make, like the way we decide to eat when feeling hunger… You choose to live in God, nobody decides for you.

As we go in the process of enjoying life, never forget that the Life of God is a life that leads to eternity…It is a life of peace on earth and victory to Heaven.

Choose, Live after the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God…

Faith Of Our Mothers

Faith of our mothers, a lovely sight
Loving spirit and joyful gaze
Whitish garment and gentle breeze
Faithful heart and a prayerful life

The faith of our mothers, a Godly faith
That rippped the sinner's heart apart
That drew grace from afar
The faith that opened the heavenly gates apart

The faith of our mothers, a Christian faith
That believed seven precedes eight
That beheld a land that's brighter than the day
For the Father waits over the way

That cradle songs that watered a troubled heart
The cymbals that opened the cloudy sky
The hearts that worked before th
e sun gave up to the stars
Wonderfully singing "on Christ's solid Rock we stand"

We, your sons are leaping in agony
Our day is giving up to the night
Moral decadence is dancing on our lane
Will there be stars on our sky?

Oh!, the faith of our mothers
Sing for us your lovely track
For our sight is becoming dark
For we only behold the earth without the other side

O ye faith of our mothers
Rest not your eyes on your heart
Breathe thy spirit through our deeds
Our age is seeking you more than the past

The faith of our mothers, a glorious faith
That manifested in their morning bell and noontide grace
Rise from your grave to rescue our age
With the hope that we'll be true to thee till death
